Henry Bessemer- What did he invent?

He invented the Bessemer Converter in 1858!

The Bessemer converter made steel quicker than anything before. It could also make more steel. It could make 30 tonnes of steel at once which is the same as a lorry!

 

The Bessemer converter could make more products. It could make them bigger, and it could make them quicker.

 

This huge machine meant that not as many men were needed to help make steel. Henry Bessemer became the father of the Industrial Revolution.
